This quilt I designed based on the Disappearing Nine Patch block.
I made the original nine patches based on charm square blues I had (charm squares are 5 inch pieces of fabric). I used more solid blues for the north, south, east and west pieces in the nine patch. Then, I used medium-value blues for the corners of the nine patch with white in the center block.
Then, after I quarter-cut the sewn nine patch, I rearranged the blocks as you see here and added white sashing with magenta corner stones.
The quilting was done by Cecillia Stevens in Pittsburgh. She did a fantastic job!
